BRESSANONE/BRIXEN CATHEDRAL
The Bressanone/Brixen cathedral and the famous, well preserved cloister are a piece of history in the former episcopal town of Bressanone/Brixen – the impressive building’s wonderful frescoes and vaults are worth looking at closely. The original Ottonian cathedral underwent a redesign in the Romanesque period and is one of the most important sights in Bressanone/Brixen today.

ABBAZIA DI NOVACELLA/AUGUSTINER-CHORHERRENSTIFT NEUSTIFT
The Neustift monastery in Novacella/Neustift near Bressanone/Brixen and very close to the Hotel Löwenhof is Tyrol’s largest monastery and houses impressive structures like the Castello dell’Angelo/Engelsburg – a Late Baroque Collegiate Church, – a Gothic cloister, the miraculous wells, historical art gallery where an extraordinary collection of manuscripts is housed and other unique features that make Neustift monastery one of the most important sights in Bressanone/Brixen, the whole of the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal valley and in South Tyrol.

BRESSANONE/BRIXEN OLD TOWN
Bressanone/Brixen old town with its arcade lanes, well preserved town houses, Großer Graben shopping street, Baroque Hofburg (Imperial Palace) and numerous cafés and shops invite you to explore and enjoy a stroll. To find out all about Bressanone/Brixen and the old town the best thing is to take part in one of the tours round the town that take place every week.

The mining museum is one of the most popular sights for all ages. Bressanone/Brixen is just under 40 kilometres away – it is definitely worth taking a trip into the world of miners. The entertainment programme and different interactive tours will amaze you.

A town as a sight all on its own, just a stone’s throw from Bressanone/Brixen! Visit this town that has already enticed Dürer and many artists to it with its winding cobbled lanes and cosy atmosphere.

VANDÒIES/VINTL LODEN FACTORY AND CAPRIZ FINE CHEESE DAIRY
Sights not far from B, which demonstrate South Tyrolean traditions and make them tangible are the loden factory in Vandòies/Vintl and Capriz fine cheese dairy. Both these interactive museums are just a view metres apart and provide an insight into how local products are made. Both the fine cheese dairy and loden factory have a shop where you can purchase the product straight away.

CASTEL/SCHLOSS WOLFSTHURN IN MARETA/MAREIT
The castle is among the most unique South Tyrolean sights as the only purely Baroque castle. You can reach the magnificent building where the South Tyrolean National Museum for Hunting and Fishing is housed today in just under 30 minutes from Bressanone/Brixen.

SOUTH TYROLEAN ARCHAEOLOGY MUSEUM
One of THE sights not just in South Tyrol but in the world is situated not far from Bressanone/Brixen. The Ötzi glacial mummy and its story are exhibited and presented in Bolzano/Bozen’s Museumstraße.
